A voice to all the rape victims out there. Y’all are true heroes of strength.

She lay motionless in the dark
She wanted to cry,
She wanted to scream,
She wanted it to end.

A month had passed
But it still lingered,
The horrible sensation of his rough fingers against her soft skin,
It felt like it was still happening.
From time to time, her body would freeze like it did that night.

She wanted to tell people
But her family said, no.
It’s a shame. A disgrace.
Conceal it. Hide it.
Bury it deep down and never let it out.

She blamed herself
Because society made her believe that
It is her fault.

She wanted help.
She wanted someone to tell her
“It wasn’t your fault”
But no one did.

She died that night.
She was never the same after that
And no one helped her come back to life either.
